She recently showed us her versatility as an artist with the following three freehand ink drawings on paper. As you can see, a good synergy exists between the ceramic vessels and the drawings, but they easily stand alone as well.

These works form part of a series of approximately 45 drawings, which was started by Cheryl last year.

The first series of similar drawings was shown at Everard Read Gallery a while back and we look forward to the exhibition of this new series.

These bowls are all handmade at my shared studio at The Old Biscuit Mill (www.oneroof.co.za)
The inspiration is seaweed and underwater creatures, spotty things and butterfly wings…

And of course they are just perfect as fruit bowls – no more rotting nectarines!
So far they have proved very popular. These images are of my latest work, fresh from the kiln, just last week.

I will be at the Potter’s Market on March 19th at  Rondebosch Park off Campground Road, between 9am and 2pm.

Come meet me and see my new ceramic art in person or find my work at Imagenius on Long street, and Casamento at The Old Biscuit Mill on Albert Road, Woodstock.

I’ll also have my work on show at the ‘One Roof One Word’ Exhibition on Thursday March 31st at the Old Biscuit Mill courtyard from 6 til 9pm.

New work by Clementina van der Walt, guest artist at the Western Cape Ceramics SA Regional Exhibition at Rust-en-Vrede Clay Museum, Wellington Road Durbanville until mid December.
These are recent pieces, all utilitarian, inspired by Russian suprematists and constructivists. The idea is to eat off and drink out of art works!
