The Gold of Africa Museum has a wonderful workshop in a leafy courtyard in the city. Jewellery making courses are offered on Friday mornings and Saturday afternoons. Students are guided through the manufacture of an item of their choice over a period of 12 hours and will cover techniques relating to their chosen design.
A 10 week course is also in the pipeline where participants will learn the basic skills of metalsmithing.
The museum also has a permanent exhibition of gold jewellery from all over Africa, and hosts regular temporary exhibitions.
